boot problem - need to reboot many times

I have a gateway computer with ME - I need to reboot 5 or 6 times before windows will boot to the screen, when it does boot up - it freezes quite often.
I used the system restore - using the reformat option but I still have the problem - can you help?
Thanks Terry

Hi Terry and welcome to CTH

Could you download HiJackThis from here http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it hjt.

Unzip HijackThis into this folder. Launch Hijack This, then press Scan, and press Save Log

This will generate a text file that will list all running processes, all applications that are loaded automatically when you start Windows, and more.

Most things are harmless and needed so don't make any changes.

post a log here please.

Lets see if something jumps out at us,

Don

Hi Don; Yes I tried both scandisk and defrag - I'll try to use hijack this again and see if I get a better log.
Thanks Terry
