System config= Panasonic CF-45 Laptop (PIII 450, 128M ram, Toshiba 6GB.

I have two questions.

1> I recently installed Win2000K pro (full) From win98SE. Now that it's running, it makes a light chirping sound, like the read/write heads are resetting or docking. It doesn’t affect the performance during intensive read time and I know it's not a failing HD. The sound is too faint and light.
I've all updates, drivers, etc... except bios now that I think about it{I'll do that now, sometimes it seems my memory picks up attributes from Microsoft's programs... and crashes!}. Can you think of anything? Advanced PwrMgnt setting maybe. If I switch to win2k server or advanced server will that make a difference?(not Home edition, I don't own that) Oh, Panasonic doesn't know either!!! :)

I'll probably replace the HD soon, but not knowing REALLY bugs me!! It's personal!

2> would it be possible to connect a second monitor to the back port while still running the LCD.
Another way to ask this is... Is it possible to manipulate the HAL to "think" I've got two video cards?

Any thoughts would be helpful, apperciate it.

Thanks.

Problem one sounds like the hard drive having problems.

Problem two can be done easily. Plug the monitor in and then hold the Function key down and hit F4. This will toggle you screens. Hit F4 until both screens are on.
