Help or my dad will kill me!!

I have NO clue what happend but when I logged back on from the screen saver it seems one of nortons files decided to trip out, so windows forces a shutdown (windows XP MSDN)... ok no harm done yet... but then when I try to log in it seems the recent folder is corrupeted... ok so I just delete it no problem... now the REAL problem is there's a file in one of mozilla's users folder that's "corrupt", I can't replace it with a working file, I can't delete it, and it has size 0. The thing is this little file is the ONLY reason I have found that the profile won't load!

*wipes forhead* well I'm safe for now, all I did was relocate it to a "qurantine" folder of sorts and everything works but I've noticed a few strange things happening that I would like you guys's help on mkay 1. Using mozilla firefox if I don't disable my firewall I CAN'T connect to the internet at all! this has NEVER happened before, I keep getting connection refused :\ and I have some emails that I've lost in some profile accident/glitch, how can I recover these? Microsoft outlook 2000.

Welcome

If using XP and have System Restore available then see if you have an appropriate restore point.

Also run a Virus Scan.
