Turning Video 90 Degrees
HELP!
Does anyone know how to flip video clips 90 degrees that were originally shot to fit lengthwise in the viewfinder? I had assumed that the camera would "know" to flip back to the correct orientation, but alas I'm making everyone turn sideways to enjoy the video and pretending this is not uncomfortable while I find the answer. Please, anyone...please help! These are very important clips to my family and I. Any help would be appreciated... |

First off welcome to CTH
![]() There are many ways to do this but perhaps the best piece of software is a free one called Irfan View. Get it at: http://www.tucows.com/preview/194967.html Download it and install the program by running the downloaded file. Once installed, go into the start menu and find Irfanview, launch the program, and open up the image. Once open at the top of the picture, where there is File, Edit, Image, etc. Click on the Image menu and then under it there are a bunch of rotating options. After it is rotated save it somewhere and then you have your rotated image. (note: irfanview sometimes compresses the images by lowering the quality, if it does this to a level that in undesirable in the save menu, click options, and there is a slider to adjust between file size and quality.) Hope this helps ![]() Just ask if anything is unclear
