Welcome :)
When do you get the message?
Is it for a single file or is it for all .xls files????

Hi,
ok, when did this start happening?
Are you sure that these are valid excel files and not from a different spreadsheet program

Have you run AntiVirus and Spyware scans?

I already ran a virus/spyware program. This started happening a month ago not sure exact date. I am positive about the files because I open excel and create a file and save on the desktop or anywhere. I reopen the file then gives me the error of file is not recognizable.

Do you have the latest service packs installed?
Have you tried a reinstall of Excel?
