Help. I cant send messages. I keep getting error message: The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.cognifast.com', Server: 'mail.cognifast.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E. Running windows 98se. I think the problem started when I removed an automatic dialer.

How do you connect to the net?
Is the internet working ok?
Who is your ISP?
Have you double checked your email account settings?

Internet is working. I'm on right now. ISP is cognifast. It seems I can recieve emails but I cant send them.

Are you using a firewall?
Try disabling it to test. You may need to reset the program entry to act as a server.

That was a firewall reference.
btw, you should install a firewall ;)
What was the Dialer that you removed?

It seems to have resolved itself. I can get in and send and receive emails. Thanks for your help.

Guess it was just an ISP server error :)
