Does anyone know how to get rid of the Games that come with Windows 2000?
When I delete the exe's from the C:\WINNT\system32 folder they magically reappear.
Just a note! I do not have the option to goto Add or Remove Windows Components
-> Accessories and Utilities
-> Details
-> Clear 'games' checkmark
Accessories and Utilities does not appear in this process. :confused:

Hi welcome to cybertech.
I was just told that the games in Win/2000 are part of the protected files. They will be replaced if deleted. the files get replaced from \winnt\sustem32\dllcache
system32
there is a file that can be edited to make the games appear in Add/Remove, Windows components.
Take a look At this Site (http://www.computernewsdaily.com/IMDS%7CCND77Cread7C/home/content/users/imds/feeds/nytsyn/2002/04/09/cndin/2170-0142pat_nytimes%7C/home/content/users/imds/feeds/nytsyn/2002 /04/09/cndin/2171-0143-pat_nytimes%7C%7C%7C) It will explain how to do this for you.

Why do you want to delete the games?
You could always just delete the links in the Start/progrmas menu if you don't want user's to have easy access to them.

Thanks a million, I am not sure if your information that you provided to me was what I needed, because the web address was coming up misdirected. However, I did find the information at to how to get the hidden Window Accessories to appear and the information is at this web address.
