Recommended Programs

so far i have downloaded programs to help portect my computer. programs such as:

Adware
HJT
CWShredder
and i have norton

i was wondering if you guys have recommended programs to possible block pop-ups and i was wondering if spybot - search and destory is useful or is there something else better then it cause i have it rite now but i m not sure if i should delete it or not.

This could be an ongoing thread as everyone will have there favourites.

I would definately recommend Spyboy.

For startup programs

The rest depends on how indepth you want to get.
We could list Registry Cleaners, System Configurations programs, tweaking programs etc.

For popup one of the best is from panicware.com called popup stopper.
Just remember, all the software in the world will not protect a computer if you do not abide by basic common sense rules.
