I am setting up a network using a win2k advanced sever. I am trying to join the domain with my win2k machine. I am able to get it to ask me for username and password but then it gives me a message saying something to do with the network sorry I can't be more specific. I have no trouble adding my win98 machines to the domain. from the win 2k machine I can ping the ip address as well as tne sever name
Thanks for the help

With Windows 2000, when you try to add it to the domain you are going to have to create a computer account on the domain for that machine in order for it to access the network. Windows 9x clients aren't as picky as Windows 2000 is.
I don't have a Win2000 nor Win2000 A. Server box infront of me so I really can't give you any detailed instructions. :( Sorry.

I agree with Theoran, it looks like the username and password that you are supplying does not have rights on the Domain to add a new computer account on the Domain. Try using the Administrator password for the Domain, and that will work, as this will allow you to create a new computer account.
I hope this helps!
