View Full Version : Changing Win2k Splash Screen

I was hoping that someone new how to change the Win2k Splash Screen. Have heard it can be done, but can't find anything on it.. I can do it on a 9x paltform, but 2k has me?? help!!!

Never mind figured out how to do it... Just took a little more looking than I though.. If your interested email me and I will tell you how...

Hi brianquestions, welcome to Cyber Tech Help.

If that method you have disables Windows File Protection I would suggest you avoid that.

There is another way using a new kernel.exe call from c:\boot.ini

Let me know if you need this method posted.

Thanks for the reply Spider!!

I have actually copied and then renamed my

NTOSKRNL.EXE file. Just as you were probably

going to say........ I added

a "/KERNEL=newfilename.EXE" after

the "/fastdetect" in the BOOT.INI file.

That's the one. Coupled with that great program Resource Hacker to do that
recompile-on-the-fly magic.
