I've been looking for a while for working Windows 2000 drivers for the Trident 4dwave-dx sound card. So far I have been unsuccessful. I am hoping someone on this forum might know where I can locate this driver. Trident tech support is pretty crappy, much like their products. Thanks in advance.

I was able to install it, and unlike some other drivers I have tried, it didn't give me a blue screen. However, I still don't have sound. The yellow speaker appears in the tray. The sound card appears in my device manager. But whenever I try to play a .wav file in Sound recorder, it doesn't play. I don't hear the sound, nor do I see it playing. The program still responds, however. I have not tried other types of sound files. Any ideas?
Forgot to mention that the volume is turned all the way up, so that is not the problem.

Win2K is pretty unforgiving with plug n' play.
If you have a device that doesn't come easy to Win2K then
chances are it just isn't going to go. I just swapped a Linksys
NIC out of a IBM Netvista machine because I was just tired of
trying to make it install. I put in a 3COM and it went right in no
probs.
Windows98/ME seems to be more forgiving with the 16/32bit
but Win2K is pure 32 and the device drivers just have to be thinking
the same way.
You can try the Preferred device settings in Volume Control
(right-mouse Adjust). If you have played with all preferred device
settings then your going to have to call it a wash and get a different
sound card.
