I have been using FTP Explorer on Win98SE with no problems but since moving on to W2K cannot get it to connect. I have also tried CuteFTP but always get the 'cannot resolve host name' error whenever I try to connect to any of my three web site hosts.
I have double checked the connection details and tried again after disabling Zone Alarm but nothing seems to make any difference.
Can somebody suggest what else I could try please?

As a test try this.
Open up Internet Explorer,
in the address bar type your FTP address
ftp://ftp.yourdomain.com
A box should appear asking for your Username & Password.

Thanks Degs, I got a 'FTP Folder Error' telling me that 'Windows cannot access this folder. Make sure you typed the file name correctly and that you have permission to access the folder.
Details: The server name or address could not be resolved.
So what does this tell me?

Thanks for the help peeps but I have now resolved the FTP problem.
Would you believe that both the web hosts I use changed their upload addresses at more or less the same time 9and at the time I switched from Win98SE to W2K) and didn't inform us. I did get an email from one of them last week with a notification of the change of address and when I used that, FTP worked fine. I then went to the site of the other web host and found that their address had also been changed. One of those weird coincidences I suppose but at least I can now get back to updating my sites.
