Windows 2000 pro-lost all settings

After a clean install to drive D and 2 days of updates, setting favorities list, storing some documents in"My documents" installing some programs. Booted back to 2K from 98se-all gone! It's like 2K went back to a registry backup 2 days ago after the initial install. Would anybody have any idea what would cause this? Thanks.

PS: Been having error 11's in events viewer-corrected by changing computers name.

Are you sure you are logged on to 2000 with the same profile you used to create all those files? You can go to Documents and Settings and see if there is an extra profile floating around somewhere.

By golly I think your right sedu. I went to documents and settings and found my original My Documents file and favorities list. Also my name is there. How do I consolidate the two together? Or choose one and delete the other? Thanks

As long as the one you wish to keep has Administrative privileges, you can get rid of the other one. Make sure you remember the password for that one you are keeping, if you created one.
