Hi Guys,
I'm having trouble with my Win2000 Server machine, whenever I have /any/ hardware acceleration enabled on my video cards, I get random lockups (machine freezes, no blue screen or anything)
I have a Dual display with a GForce2 MX200 and a SiS 6326. At first I thought it was just the SiS card, as crashes usually happen when I was scrolling on my 2nd monitor, but even with no hw. accel it happened sometimes (tho my SiS card is actually faster without :)).
I've only managed to get a stable system by turning all acceleration off on both cards.
I have the latest drivers for my GForce, and the original Win2000 drivers for my SiS (cant use the latest SiS drivers as they dont work with dual display)
My exact system spec is:
1200mhz Athlon, VIA chipset motherboard, 512megs ram running Win2000 Advanced Server SP2.
I've download all the upgrades for my copy of Win2k, inc. DirectX 8 etc. I've also tried changing my Bios settings such as AGP fast write / x4 mode etc.
Any idea what could cause problems with my video cards?
Thanks,
Andrew
