Angry Slow Computer - SPOOLSS.exe and SPOOLSV.exe Involved ?

My NT4 SP6 slows down with SPOOLSS.EXE hogging upto 70% of CPU resources when a print job from an XP client machine running WINWORD.exe (Office 97) sends a job for printing via the server. The SPOOLSV.EXE on the client PC locks up because the SPOOLSV.EXE grabs almost the whole (85 %) of the CPU.

I have tried resolving this without any success. I have replaced the computer with a brand new system but kept the same user name (Exchange Server and NT Logon) and the problem did not go away.

Has anybody any bright ideas?
