Smartmedia card reader install

For some strange reason I cannot get a Olympus Flash path card reader to work under Win 2K pro. I've tried uninstlling/reinstalling the drivers 3 times. I D/L'ed the latest drivers, installed them-no joy. I emailed Olympus-they said try safe mode to install. Tried that-no go.The drivers install without a problem-just can't read the card to transfer images to computer.Anybody have any ideas as to what is cauing this problem?
I also have Win 98se installed on this computer.FlashPath is installed there-no problems. Thanks.

Suppose it's possible you have a faulty unit, if you've followed the instructions and been through their tech support then I'd think that was reasonable grounds to return it to the shop for a replacement

Thanks for the reply Steven, I'm going to call them monday(they gave a telephone number in the email)and see what happens. If I can't get the thinh to work,I will expect them to replace it.
