weird problems. trying to download updates for programs. Keep getting downloads to hd in .exe.wpg format, which will not install the update. Have no idea how to solve the problem. Anyone out there familiar with this?

trying to download zone alarm pro updates, and McAfee program.

Welcome :)
First, in Windows Explorer goto Folder options and View settings.
Uncheck the option to Hide File Extensions.
Now, locate your file and check that it is the full filename.
Rename it and remove the .wpg and see if it runs.
As for the cause, do you have any File Downloaders installed?

That did it, I tried to rename before but wouldn't work, was not aware of the folder property file check mark on hiding extensions. Tks That was an easy one. lol
