iMovie problem

I can't always import jpg files into iMovie, they are visable but not selectable. I copied some jpgs from a photo disk into the Mac but they were 'grayed out' and not selectable.

The only thing I can think of (I'm not an iMovie user) would be that the non-importable jpgs may be in a progressive format rpeventing iMovie from importing them.

Thanks Buzz, could you elaborate a little? I've never heard of 'progressive format'.
The files are visable with .jpg suffex but not selectable.

Well, progressive is a jg format that causes images to load in stages. If you've ever been to a web site wher ethe image loads but then slowly gets clearer and it makes passes over the image. That's a progressive jpg.

Again, I'm not an iMovie user so this is really just a guess.

Oh yeah.... I know what you mean. BTW, I am using iMovie to do a slide show with music. That's why I am trying to import jpgs.
