I have the Dazzle Hollywood DV Bridge trying to export iMovie. the message I get is "The camera you have connected is a different video standard from your project"
It seems like a firewire problem to me... How can I re-initialize the firewire?

I don't think it's a firewire issue.
Video has 3 codings or standards NCST (or is that NSCT), PAL, and SEACAM.
If you have a PAL camcorder and are creating iMovies in NCST format, the camcorder won't see the coding. And the error message means just what it says. All video is not created equal.
I would see if there are options in iMovie to change the video code format then try again.

You hit the nail on the head. I didn't realize that the Dazzle Hollywood DV-Bridge was defaulting to the PAL standard. The Dazzle tech didn't help either. He said it was a firewire problem. Once I noticed (in iMovie) that it was seeing the device was PAL, I was able to find the issue on the Dazzle website and change the default startup (for the DV-Bridge)to NTSC. Now iMovie recognizes it as NTSC and it works fine.
Thanks again,

Cool. I'm so happy when my guesses are correct! :)
