The default wait time for a screesaver in windows 2000 pro is 1-999 minutes.
How can I change it to where the highest wait time is 15 minutes.

I know nothing about win2000 hopefully it is the same as the other os's. Try this, right click on desktop, click on properties, click on screen saver.

You need to be clearer, you completely, and I mean completely lost me. In your first message you said 15 minutes now you said 1-10 minutes. Are you wanting some sort of slide show or do you want the screensave to come on at different intervals instead of a fix interval.

I think he means that he want the maximum time before the screen saver comes on to be limited to 15 minutes.

There may be an option in the Local Policy. I'll have a look around.

That is correct, I want the maximum time to be 15 minutes.

I believe that wait time is hard coded and cannot be changed.

I found something here that might or might not help. I've never changed anything like this so...

Open Group Policy Display Settings

To access the screen saver settings, open the Group Policy snap-in, and then open the Display object.

To do this, follow these steps:

Click Start, and then click Run.

Type mmc, and then click OK to start the Microsoft Management Console (MMC).

On the Console menu, click Add/Remove Snap-ins, and then click Add.
Click Group Policy (or click Local Policy if you want this policy to apply only to the computer currently in use), and then click Add.

-or-

If this will be an Active Directory policy, click Browse, and then select the site, domain, or organizational unit that you want this policy to apply to.

Click Close, and then click OK.

Expand User Configuration, and then expand Administrative Templates.

Expand Control Panel, and then click Display.

In the rightmost pane, double-click the setting that you want to configure.

I am using the screensaver as a security to keep unauthorized people out of the computer. But one of the other users keeps changing to wait time on the screensaver to 60 minutes. That is why I want it to be a maximum of 15 minutes. If it is hard coded is there any other way to the accomplish this?

Have you thought about setting a password protect?

Thanks Tweaker a group policy might just work. The screensaver is password but The other user has to have the password to logon.
