It seems we have evolved massively...in technology....but yet not enough to stop killing each other....

No matter how much tecnology we develop, we will always be human and as long as we are human we are subject to hatred, discontent, jealousy, anger all the ingredients for a violent confrontation. If you want peace, then we need to create a society of robots where emotions are not a part of the equation. I will take the war with the good, as opposed to surrenduring my humanity and living as an android. There will always be war and rumors of war and as enat66 said, the men of the armed forces have the courage to do what I have not the courage to do and I thank God for them. If it had not been for the dying of many many people, England might just now be hailing a fuhrer rather than a prime minister and a lovely queen.

I'm sorry, Melodi, I don't like to get into discussions as such, but I have to ask what you mean by this statement, why just England? :)

I just mentioned England because of an article I read yesterday and because you and dammit are from there. All of Europe might just be hailing the furher (however that may be spelt) if so many men had not died to defend it (read dammit's post above about technology and killing each other). Read this story if you get a chance it's like a romantic story without the mush http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/europe/06/01/london.plane.ap/index.html I am well studied in history. If I offended you in anyway, it was unintentional, I love you Brits, I work with one and she's a fantastic lady.
