Graphic/Image Editors.

Sorry to be waking up you Mac guys!! :D :D :D

But can any of you give me advice on a graphics/image editor that is Mac friendly, and preferably free!! ;) ;) ;)

Hi Dave

Assuming you're talking "Classic" not OSX then there's nothing worth having for free that I can think of, but a piece of notable shareware called Graphic Converter (http://lemkesoft.com/us_gcdownload.html)

If you're using OSX then I suppose it's not entirely impossible that [url=http://www.gimp.org]The GIMP[/link] will compile from source. There may even be a binary but I didn't spot it.

Thanks Steve. I was asking more for a friend, but unfortunately I'm not sure what Mac computer it is, guess I have to go ask!! I have heard of the Gimp program, it's supposed to be almost as powerful as Photoshop, isn't it? A very large download too!! :eek: :eek: :eek:

I downloaded Graphic Converter earlier today, and it seems an okay program. When you get to an age, everything seems to have a steep learning curve!! :p

It really depends if your friend knows what he/she is doing, it will only work on MacOSX - and it's going to need a bit of messing about to get it to compile.

As far as for the PC goes, sure it's a good program.

As for my friend, well............Here's a little confession, it was actually Audone that I was asking for!! :D :D :D

At the Pub, she had asked if I knew of any image programs that would "shrink
down pictures, I had suggested to her Irfanview, but she replied saying it won't work with a Mac!!!

And that in itself could be a monumental task!! I've spent a little time playing with it, but I really need to retire to give these programs the time they so richly deserve!! :D
