Taking a scree shot on a Mac

On Windows using the Print Screen key, a desktop screen shot is copying into the clip board. Is there some key identical to this on a Mac?

Command - Shift - 3 will take a shot of the entire screen.

Command - Shift - 4 will allow you to draw a marquee around what you want a shot of.

The images are placed at the root level of your hard drive and titled "Picture 1" .... "Picture 2".... "Picture 3"... and so on.

or if you hold control with those it copies the screen to clipboard rather than saving a file :)
