Trying to install 5100c scanner software from the www.HP.com (http://www.hp.com/) website on Windows 2000 build machine.

Once scanner software is installed, scanner 5100c is plugged in, and PC is rebooted I find the machine to be blue screening.

Searched on HP website for fix. Booted using safe mode, Reloaded software update and still no success - just a blue screen.

Try going into BIOS (SETUP) and change your printer port to EPP.

Are THESE (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?product=61840&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&os=181) the drivers your trying to install?

I appreciate your Quick response..

Yes you are correct about the drivers. I installed the NT scanjet 5100c software version first then used the windows 2000 update afterwards.

Rebooted the PC and logged on successfully - all was ok until I connected the scanner and rebooted the PC which resulted in the blue screen.

In reply to your suggestion in checking the Printer port in the bios to EPP - This is already set EPP.
