why eveytime i download something it opens with picture viewer ?

You have a file association problem.

I take it what you are trying to open is a picture? Need more info. What type of file are you trying to open?


Is picture viwer opening any type of file you are downloading?

change the file association with the files. Since you did not mentioned which operating system you are using, go to your windows help for steps on how to do this.

its windows 2000 and when i try to open spybot or hijack after downloading it opens them in image viewer .

Try the EXE File Association fix from here

It is for XP but may work for 2000.
Take a Reg Backup first, just incase

In My Computer or Windows Explorer, right-click a file with the extension whose association that you want to change, and then click Open With.

In the Open With dialog box, click the program that you want to use to open the file type. Or, click Choose Program to choose the program that you want. If the program is not listed, click Other to locate your program.

Click the Always use the selected program to open this kind of file option.

If you do not have the option to "Open With" then in Explorer, go to the top menu:

TOOLS | FOLDER OPTIONS

Under "FILE TYPES" find the extension "EXE" and if Image(picture) Viewer is listed let us know before we go further.
