:confused: i have a old 6100 66
with a 4 gb hd 8 x cd and it wont start up it use to when i did the cd start up ive changed jumpers ive installed os 9.1 i also have a 2 gb seagate that ive tryed but none work when i left it last it would start up witha disk in the drive. then it would get to the start up screen and it would get no futher please help me i just need to get it working until i get my new ibook in 6months i need to get it working with the 4 gbibm drive so please please help me

Hi doh, welcome to CTH :)

Let's just check we're both on the same wavelength here.

Are you trying to start up from the HD or from a MacOS CD?

Start screen and no further sounds like an extensions problem, so try booting up and holding down shift to turn the extensions off and see if it boots up.

i have tryed turning off ext
but it never gets that far it wont start up from the disk or cd all of my connections are good i just have no clue

When you say you altered the jumpers is this for the CD or Hard drive? Are we talking SCSI or IDE?

i tryed moving jumpers from my scsi disk they were on #6 scsi term on and id bit 2 also when i start it up now it does not make the start up sound it used to?????? maybe my board is fried????

#1) Zap the PRAM. Hold down command + option + P + R on boot... if it chimes, let it chime 4 times then let go of the keys..... see if you get anything.

i will try zap the pram but i dont think it will work if you have any other ideas please let me know
