Hi,

I think I messed around where I shouldn't have. I changed a few of my services from "manual" to "automatic." I can't remember exactly which ones, but I think they involved svchost.exe-k netsvcs files. When I rebooted, I got several svchost.exe errors. I would like to find out the recommended mode setting for my services - is there a list somewhere? I don't know which should be automatic and which manual. I''m using "The Ultimate Troubleshooter" software to help me decide what should be disabled, but it doesn't give info on the later.

Appreciate any help.

Hello:
Go back in the services screen and the upper left corner is an help menu, click on that and click 'help topics' when that opens click on index and on the first line type in defaults. Look down the list a little bit and you will see default service settings, double click on that and on the right the list of defaults will appear and you can reset them.
