all of a sudden?
I have a G4 with OS9.2.2./OSX10?

It was working fine, then for some reason it started to freeze when either stuffing or expanding files (jpg,psd,text... probably others that i can't think of hand). I thought well sence it is stuffit deluxe version 5.1.5. with expander 5.5. and drop stuffit 5.5.,I'll go a head and upgrade it to version six. An extension conflict perhaps? So before doing that I checked with TTpro, norton and conflict catcher. They all passed. then I manually took another peek around in the extensions and control panels. didn't see anything off the wall out of place. Rebuilt the DT and later on zapped the pram.
So I went a head and upgraded to stuffit deluxe 6. not quiet as bad, meaning I can now drag a file over to expand or stuff but the deluxe menu will freeze the computer, not lock it. Though I still have to force quit and sometimes if not a lot have to reboot. Get a dialog that the finder quit unexpectedly.
I did install flash 5 the other night?

I'm thinking along the lines of going a head and downloading the lastest expander (6.??) and drop stuffit, then dumping my present expander etc yet still keeping the deluxe.
Many moons ago {far far away in another galaxy) the aladdin rep over at macfixit mentioned to someone to try that on a whatever problem he/she was having.

I've downloaded some test downloads just to see if the file helpers were set up correctly and they are - will open with expander as they d/l. They get to my designated downloads folder.
Like I mentioned above ..... it was working fine before?

Any ideas.

Yeah Bill, You MUST have Deluxe 6.5 at least with OS9 and 6.5.1 for OSX.

Just lucky I guess. I've had no problems with 6.5 and 6.5.1.

The problem/glitch is back! grrrr
Not as bad but the menu part acts goofy every other time.

Well it must be a system conflict then, Bill.
