macs to pcs

ok buss if you remember my email when the boards were down i had a question about text files from macs to pcs well my friend says thanks but he has a question again.
How do you tranfer from mac to pc I thought maybe floppys but he said not compatible
so im asking you again

Easy Iron.. you can format a floppy on the mac for a PC. Or just buy PC formatted floppies and they will work on the mac.

To reformat a disk ....
pop the disk in then select it by clicking it once then go to Special > Erase Disk...
When the window pops up simply select DOS (not Prodos) as a format and click okay. If all goes well the floppy if it's a 3.5" will have a little "PC" on the icon.

You can also buy PC formatted Zip disks and use those on a mac as well.

Another way would be email. Simply send the mac files to an email address you can get to on the PC and there ya go.

BTW I forgot to tell you that your friend will need to add suffixes to all the graphics files if there are any used in the document.. you know.... .tif for tiffs .eps for eps etc. otherwise they won't be seen or recognized by the PC app.
