Won't Let Me Adj Screen Size Or Color-looks Like Safe Mode!

I turned on my computer today to find a very funky screen-all of the colors look like 'safe mode'. when i tried to change in 'settings', it won't let me. I can choose either 16-bit or 256 color or 16-bit highcolor, but when I click "apply" or "ok" it immediately goes back to 16-bit. It also won't let me change the size of my screen-it's currently set at 600 x 480 and when I change it to another size, it immediately reverts back to the 600 x 480. I have tried everything I could think of-(keep in mind I'm NOT a computer wiz.) Any help would be sooooo very much apprieciated!

Welcome to CTH

It appears that your Video Drivers are corrupt. Let's try it the easy way first.

Right click on "MY COMPUTER" then go to PROPERTIES, now click on DEVICE MANAGER TAB

Now click on the + sign next to Graphic or it may say Display Adapter.

Now you will see an entry under this. Highlight this entry then hit the PROPERTIES BUTTON

Now go to the DRIVER TAB, then Click on the UPDATE DRIVER button, follow the scren prompts.

If this does not work, post back here and give us the name and model number of the computer.
