How did you decide upon your user name? For example 'BigFred' is he really called Fred and is he big, 'Renegade600' is he really a Renegade and Lufbra is this a pneumonic for Likeable User Friendly Brilliant Responsible Adult?

How did you decide upon yours?

Lufbra is this a pneumonic for Likeable User Friendly Brilliant Responsible Adult
Not bloomin' likely! :D

Mine is a nickname that I got when I started a work when I was 16.
It was a laddish office in the oil industry and it seemed as though everyone needed a nickname.

How about yours? ;)

Back in high school one of the elective courses apart from the usual shop classes, debate club and latin was an additional English class devoted to all things Sci-Fi and Fantasy. To the uninitiated this sounded rather breezey way to pick up another all important core credit while reading 'Pulp Fiction' (a novel that had not yet been written at the time to my knowledge). Boy did we have another thing coming. Some of the more important novels covered were 1984, Animal Farm, Brave New World, The Chrysalids, The Hobbit and The Foundation trilogy. Worked out to be on average of two book reports every 1.5 weeks. The creative writing portion of the course consisted of a total of fourteen short stories all consisting of the same theme using the most of the same protagonists. From this sprang many of my user names including Calpitor.

TJ, don't bay no never mind to the chicken. It's the beer. Chicken and beer don't mix. But...peanuts and beer do! :rotflmao:

Now, for me, Junky is the name of an old virus I had a h(e)ll of a time with way back in the good old days of the 486 machines. :dizzy:

It was not your fault and there was nothing to be sorry about. I should not have even mentioned it but I was wanting to have some fun at my expense.

TJ, i have to say that your description of the Chicken isn't anywhere close. Lufbra=Look under Freds big red ass...... ;)

I got my name when I first posted at a board like this and they wanted a name really quickly. So I thought of my old Dodge truck and thats the name I've stuck with for about just over 4 1/2 years now. (Just hope the Chrysler corp doesn't ever see it, they'd probably sue me for copyright crap)...:D

'Why are you calling Lufbra a chicken'?

Dodge

Look at the Avatar next to his name. He has a chicken head there. Usually he has a Flashing Chicken showing. It is a chicken with a long trench coat and he is flashing everyone.... Thats where the Chicken part came from.... ;)

'They do don't they though'.

Hi All

Thanks TJ, it's an honour to be have my NIC used as an example in the intro to this thread. I'm away from home at the moment, hence my tardy reply.

Well BigFred comes for the fact that I am Big, not as big as I was when first adopting the NIC, (I found a good diet), ;) And no, my name is not FRED, actually it's Tom, but FRED comes from the name the guys I worked with years ago, gave to the first computer like device we had, it was nothing like the PC of today, but it did perform logic operations, using electro mechanical components together with a heap of transistors and diodes. FRED was an acronym for Fu*#ing Rediculous Electronic Device.

Cheers BF

My main alias on wired is trillian prefect, a good combination.

Mine was an attempt to find some old friends. I figured if they ever happened across tramtwo they would know it was someone from the group that use to take the top secret camping trips code named TRAM. My nickname was Deuce when I was in the Air Force ergo tramtwo it has had several incarnations over the years; Tramtwo, TramTwo, Tramtw0, TramTw0, tramtw0, tram2, Tram2, TramII, TRAMII, ect, ect, and I have yet to be contacted. :(

Got really plastered in a pub quiz one night, the question was for about a million pints and half an hour in the cellar with the bar maid. I managed to name the seven dwarfs as far as "Doc, Sneezy, Bashful, Dopey....." long pause, totaly lost the plot in a haze of Stella Artois and cheap vodka, then with a huge theatrical flourish to tumultuous cheers from the crowd finished off with "Snurfen, Burfen and Durfen" surprisingly, got sod all prize. Completely forgot about it till I went to that pub a week or so later. Still haven't lived it down 15 years later. Still, beats being called the other names I used to be adorned with ;-)
