View Full Version : what is windows 2000 pro?

I use the computer to pretty much surf the net, listen to music and whatever, at my house, i was running 95, now 98se, i have a windows 2000 professional disk i was thinking about trying out, but i thought i remember hearing that 2000 pro is more for business use, anyone know for sure?
also, whats the minimum mhz to use 2000 pro?

Hi mopower440,

Yes, Windows2000 Pro does tend to be more for business use, but that doesn't mean that home users can't utilize it. Before making a decision, have a look here:

hmm, wondering why 2000 only requires a 133 mhz CPU but ME requires at least 150 mhz cpu?

To be honest, I have never compared the system requirements for them, so I've never really thought about it. Perhaps it's because ME is designed more for home users (more likely to run games and other multimedia apps) than 2K.
