Protecting files when connecting hard drive to another computer

I am looking for software that will disable someone from opening my files without Windows. For example when I put my Windows 95 hard drive in my computer as a slave hard drive, I can view all files. Would an encryption program work such as PC Guardian's?

Never heard of that particular program but there are many out there.

A good one is to use is DriveCrypt as it requires a USB key/dongle to be inserted to gain access
