I just put in a Linksys router system for my computers. One of the computers is a laptop with Windows 98. I couldn't make the wireless notebook adapter card work. Linksys Tech Support said that even though the box says it will work for Windows 98 it will only work for Windows 98 SE and above. I do not want to buy a Windows 98 SE upgrade just for this. I upgraded my main computer from Windows 98 SE to XP recently. I have the original full program cd for Windows 98 SE from that computer. I would like to use this program on my laptop so I can use the wireless adapter card. What are my options? If I can use the original Windows 98 SE program how do I wipe out the old Windows 98 that is in my lap top? I do not know much about programming.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

Welcome :)

You can format the laptop which will wipe Windows 98 and all data.

Are you happy to loose all data on the laptop?
If you have a CD-RW you can backup your files.

If you choose to format then you can do it with a Win98 Startup disk.
After the format you can install from the Win98 SE CD.
