My first day with linux!

hi,
Today I installed linux
I bought a magazine/handbook (£15) which included mandrake 9.2

Installing it was soooooo easy! It partitioned my harddrive and has installed the boot loader so I can boot into linux or windows me

The only problem I have had so far is I will need to buy a 56k modem as the pcs current one is a 'winmodem', which mandrake doesnt recognise
still a modem is really cheap, so it's not a problem

Now I just have to figure out how to install more software, so if you can please give me a quick tutorial on how I should do this...

Anyway thanks for introducing me to linux, one day I hope to install it on my newer pc and ditch windows altogether!
