How do I totally erase Windows 98 so I can install 98 SE?

Hi,

I want to erase Windows 98 from my laptop and install the complete program of Windows 98 SE. How is that done? I do not need to save any files from this computer just the other programs that are on it. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Hopefully the format and install bit should be simple.


Download this file
http://files.frashii.com/~bootdisk/f...11/boot98c.exe

Run it and you will be prompted to insert a floppy disk.
This will create a Startup disk.

Boot from it and at the prompt type
Format C:

follow the prompts.


After the format insert the Win98 SE CD and type
r:\setup.exe

to start the 98 SE setup.


Things you need to keep in mind are the drivers for your laptop.

Since you said "I do not need to save any files from this computer just the other programs that are on it.", be aware that formatting the drive will erase everything on it, including all programs installed.
