Hello,

I'm Not A Computer Wiz, So I'll Try To Explain This A Thoroughly As Possible. After Turning On My Computer, I Was Getting An Error Message Saying, {invalid System Disk Replace The Disk And Then Press Any Key} I Tried Using A Boot Disk To Try And Start Windows, Which Brought Me To A Point Where It Was Saying, {the Diagnostic Tools Were Successfully Installed} And Then It Had A:\> Underneath That. I Didn't Know What To Type Here, But When I Removed The Boot Disk, I Noticed That When I Restarted My Computer It Nolonger Said Invalid System Disk, But It's Now Saying, {microsoft (r) Windows 98, And Underneath That It Says C:\>} So, Although I'm Nolonger Getting The Invalid System Disk Error Message, I'm Still At A Lost As To What To Do From Here. Can Someone Please Help Me???
Thank You!

Welcome :)

It could be many things.

Incase it is just a booting problem boot from the floppy again.
At the A:\ prompt type
sys c:
then press enter

remove the floppy and restart the PC.

Thanks for your reply Degsy!

I tried what you said, but just as before, I can see the windows 98 screen for a brief moment, but then it brings me to a black screen with the windows 98 copyright info, and underneath it has c:\>. Anymore suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi,

At the prompt type
dir
then enter

Do you get a drive/folder listing listing?
What is listed?

Also try typing
win
them enter.

Does WIndows start?

Degsy,

I tried typing [win] after the c:\> but it said [bad command or file name] but when I typed in [dir] it said [directory of drive c] and underneath it had a list of things with dates and times such as- Command Com, Windows, Progra~1, My Docu~1, Ms Office, My music~1, instal~3, etc. and underneath that it had c:\>. Do you know what I type in/do at this point? Also, I'm going to take a look at the things you suggested in your last response.

Again, Thanks for your help! I really appreciate it!

I think you will be better off doing a Repair Install of Windows.
It means to install over the top to replace the system files.

I have excatly the same problem, the same steps and all.
I tried to follow all that was told to you but nothing worked.
When I put at A:/ sys c: it transfers but that's all starts again with c:/
What did you do?
