Dear all,
I installed Win98 on my computer. Because of a long story, the computer is crashed or dead or something else. :dizzy:
Shortly to say, when I start the computer, the fan sounds well; only a blink on the keyboard and the green light away; monitor is black. I try to switch it off to push the button on the computer, it refused. I have to plug out the power to stop it.
What is the possible problem?
How to solve it?
Thanks in advance!

Do you have onboard video? or a video card?

Hi, friend,
I tried to install one. But, not yet. It is a pity!

You've got to have some kind of video card (which is basically a circuit board) - onboard (integrated on the motherboard) or separate (a card inserted into either a brown or white slot on the motherboard) in order to get any kind of display on the monitor. renegade600 was asking which you have.

If you don't know, and since the computer won't boot, look at where the monitor connects to the back of the computer. Is it connected to a port near the top of the tower or to a port near the bottom of the tower? Near the top and it's onboard video, near the bottom and it's a separate card.
