I have a computer that is currently running Win98 (it's not my computer, and I don't have it with me, so I can't say what the hardware spec's are), but I need to formate it and reinstall Win98. What exactly are the steps that I need to do?
If I don't low level formate, can I just load the Win98 boot disk and go from thiere? Do I need to use FDISK first? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

are you going to format then reinstall or just reinstall over the old os? Anyway check here (http://home.pacbell.net/dbk4297/win95b.html) for some more instructions.
As far as what is on the computer. Download belarc advisor (http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html)and it will tell you everything you need to know about the computer. You may need this info if you have problems after the reinstall. Run it and print the info first.
