Ready to jump off....HELP please!!!

am at my limit with computers.....
windows 95 starts up & looks normal when it says windows 95....
then it goes to a split screen (twin windows) with my icons soooo tiny that i cannot even see them to click on anything?? help please before i jump off the bridge!!!!

Welcome to CTH.

First off can you get into Safe Mode?
Windows 95

Restart your computer normally by clicking Start/Shutdown and picking Restart instead of shutdown. Then once your computer has started to boot back up wait until you see the text "Starting Windows95" and then press F5 key.

Sometimes booting into this and then booting back normally will fix things. Tell us if you can atleast get in safemode


(note: everything in safemode may look a little big and with bad colors but it shouldn't look split screened or tiny iconed)

ok, i got into safe mode & corrected the screen display to one screen. i also ran a program i found there called something like compaq computer diagnostics. .....after i ran this & it did several self-tests...i no longer have a mouse available to me?? it reboots & says it detects no mouse to connect one now...but i have connected two different ones & neither works?? like i said it is ALWAYS something new to make you wanna just toss it or jump!!! lol

i discovered that it is an AMD processor with 32 mg RAM, windows 95. and of course my big question, how do you get OUT of safe mode??

You should be able to shutdown and restart it normally to get out of safe mode. Or if this doesn't work, when you pres f5 to get into safe mode...a menu should appear, choose normal mode
