The worm, known as Cabir, infects phones and devices running the Symbian operating system.
Because the worm requires Bluetooth technology to travel, it is geographically constrained to a radius of about 30 metres. Then it is dependent on someone having Bluetooth turned on within that range.

looks like it is going to get interesting, a virus that passes between cell phones through bluetooth. Just what we need. :eek:

When my hubby told me about it this morning, I couldn't believe it. Now we have to watch out for cell phone viruses?! Madness, I tell you, madness! :(

I hate talking on ordinary phones at the best of times let alone mobiles when you can't hear much and it drops in and out etc etc etc

We need to come up with a new name. I never did like the term virus anyway. Maybe we can have a contest and MishY can give one of those coveted 8 x 10 glossy autographed photos and a CTH tee shirt to the winner. Hey what ever happed to the CTH Tee Shirt idea anyway?

i think my cell phone got a virus, but i dont know how, as it has no bluetooth... i cant get the slightest signal around my house anymore, and all my calls take like 30 seconds to connect...hmmm...http://cybertechhelp.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif...stupid phone...
