You mean avi, mpg, mov, rm files don't play, right? ;)
There's many different reasons this could be happening. It could be a problem with your computer, you may need updated codecs, if the source of the files is "shady" they could be damaged or corrupt, etc.. Provide a little info about your system for starters. Have you recently run a virus scan? Defrag and clean up temp files?

Sorry, I can't recall the last time I used Real Player or Real One.... whatever they call it now. I know less than nothing about it. Have you tried playing them in Windows Media Player (WMP)? For WMP you will more than likely need to download codecs.
There's a bunch of codec packs here (http://www.moviecodec.com/downloads/codecpacks.html). I use the Nimo pack personally and thus far it has covered all my viewing needs in WMP. I had nothing but problems with the K-Lite pack, I'd advise against it. I know nothing about the ACE pack and I prefer Nimo over SLD. Each will have a setup file and will automatically install all the codecs. What file types are you trying to play? WMP will play almost all except .ra/.rm and I'm sure there's a codec for them too.

Hello bobbob, have you tried reinstalling the software and running the update feature?
The videos that you are trying to play might be using a newer version of a piece of software called codec. DivX is the most common of the newer codec software that can better maintain image and sound quality while using more compression. It may be worth trying out some different player software to play the videos.

OK, whenever i download movies from the iternet the computer doesnt register them as movies, or someting, because it just shows the windows icon beside it and stalls when i try to oopen it with DivX or any other player.
