 Hi everyone, its been a long time, but here goes anyway. I downloaded
the msplus addon to msn messanger the other day and now I have a strange
folder in explorer called drive check base. This thing keeps changing my home
page to mysearchnow.com/passthorugh/index and so on. I scan with hijackthis and fix the hijack item in question but it stills comes back. In explorer the folder named Drive Check Base there is an .exe file called BUILDL~1.EXE.
HijackThis is all right except for this item and I would like to know how to delete this through DOS because I cannot delete this through the recycle bin because iI get the following message: " cannot delete Buildless access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write- protected and that the file is not currently in use. Any help from anyone with this matter would greatly be appreciated. Tks. in advance-blackkettle

Hi blackkettle,

Have a look at the instructions in the section titled "I saw a search bar and advertisement popups after installing Messenger Plus!, why?" on the Messenger Plus FAQ Privacy & Security Concerns page (http://www.msgplus.net/help_faq.php?expand=2#install).

 Thank you very much GretaP for your help with my problem. Did what you suggested and I uninstalled the whole program, but the drive check base was not a sponsor. I tried something this morning, I put in a floppy disk and I had no problem deleting it. Within five minutes I checked again and it was still gone hopefully for good. It must have arrived there when I deleted and reformatted one of my used floppys I had. I will reinstall msplus again, but I just want to take this opportunity to give you a big THANKS for all your help. This forum ROCKS. THE BEST. Later blackkettle. :rotflmao:
