How do i sign up with g-mail?

:( Man i heard that the g-mail thing is going to be a blast..but also found on the web that this mail service may provide gateways for spammers..what is the truth?? And when or how can i sign up with g-mail?? I tried to use the google links but there is no option to sign up?? So how can i do it?? :fyi: HELP ME MAN

right now it is in beta, invites only. as far as being a gateway for spammers, all email is a gateway for spammers. :eek: I have had gmail for a couple of weeks now and have yet get spammed.

If you want an invite, maybe someone here will send you one. I would but I am not authorized yet.

can i please have a google mail. I asked a friend at my school but he wouldn't let me because he said u can only invite once a day so his inviting all his other friends first and next day later, i asked him he then said invite me.

Not really sure what gmail is really good for.
Chats can be set up IM. I like pop mail so my stuff is on my computer.
I have a webmail account for emergencies but rarely use it.
Why would I need gmail over my outlook express. I don't even like talking on the phone and don't even own a cell.
Just curious. Will do some more searching into this.
