I have a Gateway2000 Solo Laptop pentium 133, 640K Ram
Use to have Windows 95...tried to upgrade to Windows 98
in the middle of install...system freezes up with error
I don't have a startup disk and windows 95 is gone. everytime
I turn system on, it takes me to safe mode and this is the error
message:
Repairing C:\Windows\User.dat
Looking for valid system registry keys
Registry repair results
Windows found an error in your system files and was unable to fis the problem.
Try deleting some files to free up disk space on your windows. If that doesn't work then you will need to install Windows to a new directory.<ok>
I press enter and I get a blank screen with a blinking _ in top left corner.

Hi,
You can download a Windows 98 Bootdisk from : http://bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm
Download it to your desktop, insert a new or formatted floppy disk in the A:\ drive and double click the program. It will create a bootable disk which you can insert into the PC that you trying to install Windows 98.
Then go to the Tutotial section and read up on How to Install Windows
Good luck.

I have a laptop with a shared floppy and cd-rom drive. once I put the cdrom and typed in d: at the A:\ prompt it states Invalid drive specification.

Before that it read Devide driver not found: 'BANANA'
No valid CDROM device drivers selected

What do I do now?

and Thank you!
