Explorer Error <Unknown>

Need help plz!!
Im trying to work on my friends computer and everytime I open any programs or do anything I get a Explorer Error <Unknown> and it boots me out of the program. I have tried doing a windows repair by inserting the Windows ME cd but no luck.
Plz help.

Run adaware, spybot search and destroy, spysweeper and pest patrol to remove adware ,keyloggers and any variants of cool websearch.
If you are using norton antivirus , uninstall it and try AVG free edition anti virus.

The above worked for me. I have not had any explorer errors since.
