On my friends Laptop, his IE suddenly stopped working. We thought perhaps it was a HiJack of some sort, but I went through all the steps and removed that. Now whenever he tries to use it, it does nothing. He hits go and nothing happens. No action cancelled, no Can't Find Server, no errors at all. It just keeps a blank screen. It isn't the internet because I am on the same LAN as him using it now, and his AIM still works. I tried installing a Mozilla browser on there, but it says it can't find "xpcom.dll". I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem, and if so, what could I do to fix it.
Thanks.

May well be worthwhile trying LSPFix as a starting point - this repairs broken winsock stacks

I tried that and it didn't fix the IE. I did download a browser called "Opera" and it is working now. I haven't been able to fix his IE, but he doesn't really care, cause now his internet is working. I still think that is very strange though. Oh well, thanks for your help. :michaelan

Welcome :)
It could be many things.
Opera is working, which is a plus, but you could still have nasties on the PC.
Try a spyware scan
