I have a Micron Transport 233 Pentium MMX, 48 MB RAM, 2 MB Video, lost floppy drive, Windows Me, and 3 gb hard drive. After 30 minutes of use, the thing freezes in its' state and I can't use the keyboard or mouse. I have to remove both the AC plug and battery to restart. Warranty is over.

Do you have all the updates for Me installed? If no, start there and if yes, then I'd start with updating each device driver with the newest available.

Since you don't have much time from start to freeze, you could download the updates and burn them to a CDR (if you have a CD on the computer) or attach the laptop's HD to a working computer and download the updates to a folder on that drive - not difficult but you need an adapter to connect it inside a desktop/tower. Note: 2.5inch drives don't use 12 volts.

how much free space is on the harddrive. You may want to try cleaning it out. If you have less than 20 percent free space, virtual memory will suffer causing freezes.

I can not really run anything on it anymore-spyware has taken it over. I have removed many programs, but the rest are what I need to work properly. 3.1 GB hdd
