hotmail problem

Hi,
Have seen similar threads but no answer that worked for me.
Am currently running XP with mcafee security and all current updates.
I can log into yahoo, and other secure sites such as bank.
Cannot find server message appears when logging into www.hotmail.com (http://www.hotmail.com) or when clicking on the link on msn.com.
Have a 56k internal modem.
Any ideas cause although I hate to admit it this one little odity has got me beat.

Hi rayman - try turning off XP's firewall and/or disabling McAfee's firewall.

Hi, I have been having some trouble w/hotmail as well, not the same that you are having, but as I was searching through this site, I found some information that is just like what you are experiencing. Just type hotmail in the search bar and you should be able to find it too. It is dated March and April of this year and is two pages long with other folks giving several suggestions. One of the explanations is that there is a hijack trojan and that it has something to do with dns error, I think. Hope this helps you until someone else with tons more experience answers your question.

Hotmail/MSN were apparently experiencing some problems yesterday, all systems are allegedly go at the moment though
