The thing is Irons, I also have AIM and Yahoo Messenger, and in the year or so that I've used them, I have only had the odd "trash" message! Not sure why there's so few from them, but that was one reason why I got rid of ICQ before, and if I get too many again, it'll be out of this machine again!! I also find the others easier to work with, and for someones like moi, easier is much better!!!

I haven't used them. We have yahoo & msn messenger on the pc but I don't ever activate them. My son uses yahoo..What is the main advantage? Just instant message info ? Or what?

kind of like a chat room, you type live to each other is the difference and now some have voice capability where you can talk to each other like a phone.

Thank you Smurf, I guess I'll have to go and play around with ICQ, get it set up a bit more safe.

Adding to Irons last post, AIM and Yahoo also allow "conferences" meaning that you can invite a number of folks into the same "chat room", although they are'nt the same as a regular chat room.
I've used the voice messaging with Yahoo, it works very well (headset recommended), I use it now and again to "talk" to my brother who is in the UK, not bad for a freebie!!!
Dave.
